We love changing the world. We’d love to be free of fossil fuels. And every big ambition starts with small steps.
TOWARDS AN ENERGY NEUTRAL WORLD
During TeslaTravelTalks, The Student Hotel visited Copenhagen, the city that aims to be carbon neutral by 2025. Moving from 44% to 50% wind and strongly investing in solar solutions, 🚲 lanes, and biomass incineration, this city is leading the energy transition, with top-down and bottom-up initiatives.
Second destination: Samsø, the first renewable energy community coming from a full dependence on oil and coal of the Danish mainland. A transition where every local inhabitant could participate and reap the harvest of his or her energy investments. Think about a local farmer turned into smart energy trader, or local butchers turned into energy craftsman. A unique success story based on island-wide participation, ownership, skill development and cross-sector collaboration.
What we brought home? Techniques on business modelling, insights on participation and making the energy transition fun to everyone!
