The Student Hotel is kicking off our German expansion with a summer stop in Dresden. This will be our first German co-living and co-working destination (don’t worry, Berlin, baby, we’re eyeing you next). Our Dresden hotel is located on the Pragerstraße, part of the most popular retail district, between the Technical University and the historic center of the city.

The Student Hotel Dresden will take over the Ibis ‘Lilienstein’ location, part of a three-building complex originally opened in 1969. The ground floor will be refurbished to combine the existing 70’s industrial architecture with our eclectic interior design style. You’ll find our signature communal spaces plus some added bonuses: study and gaming areas, meeting rooms, co-working areas, cafe/bar, grab & go eatery, lounge, cinema, maker’s lab, fully-equipped gym and rooftop terrace with stunning views of Dresden’s majestic historical architecture. Rooms will get the same retro chic upgrade, balancing original details with our modern amenities and furniture. TSH Collab is coming to Dresden, too, providing a flexible co-working space where Dresden start-ups and small businesses can meet and work together at freelance desks, dedicated desks or private offices.

Known as “Florence at the Elbe” thanks to its idyllic location on the banks of the river, biergartens, Baroque architecture and world-class museums, Dresden is a fast-growing city and emerging tech-capital in East Germany. It is home to more than 47,000 students of which 14% are international students. The TU Dresden is one of the 11 Excellence universities in Germany. The Student Hotel Dresden is located within 10 minutes from four key institutes, TU Dresden, and the historic city center.

Our Dresden acquisition is in line with The Student Hotel group’s strategy to develop high-quality, mixed-used accommodation in major European cities to meet the demand and new way of living and working for students, young professionals, international travellers and entrepreneurs. In addition to our properties in Berlin and Dresden, The Student Hotel group is now looking for other (re)development projects in German cities such as Hamburg, Munich, Frankfurt and Cologne to further build the German portfolio.
