KICK-OFFNo Waste Revolution

Yes, that’s right, we’ve ignited a new wave of eco-conscious co-living at TSH.

ECO-CONSCIOUS CO-LIVING AT TSH

On the 31st of January, TSH started a pilot in four locations to tackle the waste created during the semester-change by outgoing students. How? By collecting waste in a number of categories (pillows, clothing, kitchen utensils and cooking materials, clothing hangers, and yes even snorkels, …) and offering them to both the fresh, incoming students, and social enterprises, aiming to limit the number of products ending up in the waste pile.

TSH’s broader ambition is to minimize its negative impact and maximize its positive impact on the environment. For this pilot, we’ve teamed up with waste consultant Milgro. Together we’re aiming to reduce the residual waste by 40% in the next year, and achieve zero waste in our F&B operations in the next 3 years at TSH.

How do we get our student residents involved? What does the pilot look like? Check out the video to see how it works! You can expect a lot more in the upcoming months. Get prepared for a war on straws in The Commons restaurant, TSH going PET Free, and a location-wide semester-change goods exchange from the summer 2018 onwards. Stay tuned for more and join our revolution!
